Information we collect

• Account and profile data, such as your name, email address, phone number, job title or role, profile details, preferences, and authentication information.
• Waitlist and communications data, including details you submit through forms and messages you send to us.
• Learning content, including recordings, audio, transcripts, notes, note titles, uploaded materials, prompts, AI answers, citations, exports, and link-sharing settings.
• Subscription and transaction data, such as your plan, purchase status, receipts, and limited billing details supplied by an app store or payment provider. We do not receive full card details when a payment provider processes them.
• Technical and usage data, such as IP address, browser, device and operating-system details, app version, language, referring page, timestamps, interactions, diagnostics, crash data, and cookie or similar identifiers.

Microphone and recordings

Notewinger requests microphone permission so you can record audio. Microphone access occurs when you start or continue a recording and is controlled through your browser or device permissions. Recordings may be uploaded and processed to create transcripts, notes, summaries, study materials, and answers.

You must have permission to record every speaker. Do not record private conversations, classes, meetings, or protected material when law, school policy, or another person's rights prohibit it.

How we use information

• Provide, authenticate, operate, sync, and improve Notewinger.
• Transcribe recordings and generate notes, summaries, study tools, answers, citations, and exports.
• Create and manage public note links at your direction.
• Process subscriptions, prevent fraud, secure accounts, troubleshoot errors, and enforce our terms.
• Send service messages, waitlist updates, support replies, and product communications you request or may opt out of where required.
• Measure performance and understand product usage through analytics.
• Meet legal obligations and protect users, Notewinger, and the public.

AI processing

To produce transcripts and AI features, relevant content may be processed by contracted hosting, transcription, and AI service providers. We require providers to process data only for providing their services and to apply appropriate safeguards. Notewinger does not use your private recordings or notes to train general-purpose AI models without your explicit consent.

When information is shared

• Service providers supporting hosting, storage, authentication, transcription, AI, email, customer support, payments, analytics, and error monitoring. Website providers may include Vercel, Google Workspace and Sheets, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, PostHog, and Sentry when those services are enabled.
• People you choose to share with. Anyone holding an active public note link can view its contents without an account until you revoke the link or delete the note.
• A school, university, or organization managing your account or workspace, where applicable.
• Authorities or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, prevent harm, investigate abuse, protect rights, or complete a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale. Where permitted, we will give notice before a business transfer changes how personal data is handled.

Retention and deletion

We retain account data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Recordings, transcripts, and notes remain until you delete them or your account, subject to limited backup, security, fraud-prevention, dispute, and legal-retention needs. Waitlist, support, diagnostic, and analytics records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for their purpose.

Deleting a note or revoking its public link removes normal access. Cached copies, recipients' copies, lawful records, and time-limited backups may remain outside your control or until routine deletion completes.

Your choices and rights

• Review or update available profile and account information.
• Control microphone access through device or browser settings.
• Delete recordings and notes, revoke public links, and request account deletion.
• Request access, correction, export, restriction, objection, or deletion where applicable law provides those rights.
• Withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the basis, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
• Opt out of optional marketing messages using the message instructions or by contacting us.

Security and international processing

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Notewinger and its providers may process information in Bangladesh and other countries. Privacy protections may differ by location. We use contracts and other safeguards required for applicable cross-border transfers.

Children and student users

Notewinger is not intended for children under 13 acting independently. A child may use Notewinger only with verifiable authorization from a parent, guardian, school, or other institution where required. If you believe a child supplied personal data without proper authorization, contact us so we can review and delete it.

Schools and institutions are responsible for obtaining required permissions and giving required notices before directing students to use Notewinger.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 to create your own account. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent, guardian, or authorized educational institution must approve your use. You must provide accurate information, keep credentials secure, and promptly report unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Recording consent is your responsibility

Recording laws and institutional rules vary. Before recording, you must give required notices and obtain every consent, permission, or authorization required by law, contract, school policy, workplace policy, or professional duty. Notewinger does not determine whether a recording is lawful. Stop recording when permission is refused or withdrawn.

Your content and our limited license

You keep ownership of content you create or upload. You grant Notewinger a worldwide, non-exclusive, limited license to host, copy, transmit, process, format, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and provide features you request. This license ends when content is deleted, except for lawful retention, backups, and copies already shared with others.

You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed for all content you upload, record, process, or share.

AI output and academic use

Transcripts, summaries, citations, answers, flashcards, and other AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading. Review important output against original recordings, source material, and instructor guidance. Notewinger is a study aid, not professional, medical, legal, financial, or academic authority.

You remain responsible for complying with academic-integrity rules. Do not present AI output as your own work when your institution forbids it.

Public note links

A public note link can be opened without an account. You control whether to create or revoke it, but you are responsible for shared content and recipients. Do not share confidential, copyrighted, personal, or restricted material without permission. Revocation stops future access through that link but cannot erase copies already downloaded, copied, indexed, or forwarded.

Subscriptions, cancellation, and refunds

Paid plans, billing periods, included usage, and current prices appear at purchase. Taxes may apply. Subscriptions may renew automatically until cancelled through the purchase channel. Cancellation normally takes effect after the paid billing period; unused time or usage does not automatically create a refund.

Purchases through Apple App Store or Google Play follow that store's billing, cancellation, and refund rules. Other refund rights remain available when required by applicable law. Material price changes apply prospectively after notice required by law or the purchase channel.

Notewinger property and feedback

Notewinger owns the service, software, design, branding, and documentation, excluding your content and third-party materials. These terms do not transfer our intellectual property to you. If you send feedback, you permit us to use it without restriction or payment, without identifying you publicly unless you agree.

Service changes, suspension, and termination

Features may change, experience interruptions, or be discontinued. We may limit or suspend access to protect users, comply with law, prevent abuse, address non-payment, or enforce these terms. You may stop using Notewinger and request deletion at any time. Provisions that logically survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms, remain effective.

Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Notewinger is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free transcription, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Mandatory consumer rights are not excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Notewinger is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or lost-profit damages, loss of data, or reliance on AI output. Our aggregate liability arising from the service will not exceed amounts you paid to Notewinger for the service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Limits do not apply where law prohibits them.

Governing law and changes

Bangladesh law governs these terms, without overriding mandatory protections that apply where you live. Courts with jurisdiction in Dhaka, Bangladesh will hear disputes unless applicable consumer law requires another forum.

We may update these terms or policies as the service and law change. We will post the new date and provide additional notice when a change materially affects your rights. Continued use after an effective update means you accept the updated terms where permitted by law.

What we may use

• Essential technologies for sign-in, security, load balancing, language, and core preferences. Blocking these may prevent parts of Notewinger from working.
• Preference technologies that remember settings such as theme and language.
• Analytics and performance technologies that help identify popular pages, product interactions, crashes, and slow experiences. Tools may include Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, PostHog, and Sentry when enabled.
• Notewinger does not currently use third-party advertising cookies to sell or target ads based on your activity across unrelated services.

Your controls

You can delete or block cookies using browser settings and limit mobile identifiers through device settings. Some analytics providers also offer their own opt-out controls. Because browsers do not apply a single consistent “Do Not Track” standard, Notewinger does not currently respond uniformly to that signal. Where law requires consent for optional technologies, we will request it before using them.

You may not

• Record, upload, disclose, or process content without required rights, consent, or lawful authority.
• Violate privacy, confidentiality, copyright, trademark, academic-integrity, or other rights.
• Harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate, discriminate against, or endanger another person.
• Upload malware; probe security; bypass limits; scrape at scale; reverse engineer except where law permits; or disrupt the service.
• Generate or distribute unlawful sexual content, child sexual abuse material, violent threats, fraud, dangerous instructions, or content facilitating serious wrongdoing.
• Use Notewinger for high-impact automated decisions about education, employment, credit, housing, healthcare, or legal rights without qualified human review and lawful safeguards.
• Misrepresent AI output, citations, affiliation, endorsements, adoption, or academic authorship.

Enforcement

We may remove content, disable public links, limit features, suspend accounts, preserve evidence, or report conduct when reasonably necessary to investigate or address violations. We consider context, severity, repetition, user safety, and legal duties. Contact us if you believe enforcement was mistaken.

How to request deletion

Use the deletion control in Notewinger account settings when available. You can also submit a request through our Contact page using the email address connected to your account and the subject “Account deletion.” We may verify your identity before completing the request.

Deletion disables your account and active public note links and removes associated personal content from active systems, except information we must retain for security, fraud prevention, transactions, disputes, or law. Time-limited backups and copies previously saved by recipients may remain. Cancelling a subscription and deleting an account are separate actions; cancel through the original purchase channel to stop renewal.

Rights complaints

If content on Notewinger infringes your rights, use our Contact page and provide your contact details, identification of the protected work, the exact content or link, a good-faith explanation, and proof that you own or may act for the owner. We may request more information, remove or restrict content, notify the uploader, and accept a response or counter-notice where appropriate.

Names, marks, and endorsements

Notewinger names and marks belong to Notewinger. Other names and marks belong to their owners. Mention of a school, university, company, or product does not by itself mean endorsement, sponsorship, or partnership. We will use institutional names in promotional claims only when the statement is accurate, supportable, and authorized where required.
